What is an Object?
An object is a collection of related information grouped together under one name, using key-value pairs. While an array is like a numbered list where you access items by their position, an object is more like a labelled form or an ID card — every piece of data has a meaningful label (the key) and the actual data attached to it (the value). A student ID card is the perfect real-world example: it groups together the student name, roll number, class section, date of birth, and photo all under one identity. In JavaScript, you model exactly this as an object where each field becomes a property.
Arrays of Objects
The real power of objects shows up when you combine them with arrays. A single object describes one thing — one student, one book, one product. An array of objects describes a whole collection of those things — an entire class list, a library catalogue, a shopping cart. This pattern is everywhere in real programs, because almost all data in the real world comes in lists of items that each have several properties. Once you can build and loop over an array of objects, you can model nearly any real-world dataset.
Classes: Blueprints with Behaviour
A class takes the idea of an object one step further. While an object simply holds data (properties), a class can hold both data and functions that operate on that data. The functions inside a class are called methods. A class acts as a factory or template — you define it once with its properties and methods, and then you can create as many individual objects (called instances) from it as you need. Each instance gets its own separate copy of the property values, but all instances share the same method definitions.
